What kinds of payment do you accept?

We accept cash at time of pick-up.

Why do you no longer carry vegetables or herbs?

We began carrying larger numbers of vegetables and herbs during the pandemic because people were having trouble accessing seedlings. Since most garden centres have increased their stock to meet demand, we no longer feel it is necessary to offer these items.

Why do you no longer carry some tomato varieties?

There are a number of reasons why we no longer carry certain varieties.

        1. We may no longer be able to source seed (ie. Brown Berry).

        2. We may have had trouble with blight on the plants in previous sales (ie. Aunt Ginny's Purple).

        3.  Customer feedback might have indicated problems with a variety.

        4. We may have sold very few plants in previous years.

If we no longer carry a variety that you enjoyed, ask us for a similar variety. We will certainly have something similar.

What if I am having trouble deciding on which varieties to grow?

Some helpful questions to help narrow down your selection are:

         1. How do I like to eat tomatoes?

                  a) If on sandwiches: get a beefsteak variety.

                  b) If in salads: get a medium, cherry or salad tomato.

                  c) If as a snack in the garden: get a cherry tomato.

                  d) If in a sauce: get plum or paste tomatoes.

         2. What colour tomato do I like? A variety or just red? Look under the colours you want.

         3. Where will I be growing it? In the ground or in a container? We have tomatoes suitable for all growing conditions.

What if I have never grown a tomato before?

We have a handout that we will give you at time of purchase that will provide tips on caring for and planting your seedlings.
