History

farm house

The original farm house on this property was built from logs locally harvested somewhere in the mid 1860’s. The farm kitchen from the original house still forms the centre of hospitality at the farm.

An addition was added in the early 1990’s which provides space for guests. In years past the house was referred to as The Russet House  in honour of an ancient Russet Apple tree that still bears fruit today.

We took this name for the farm as a way to make a connection between our new relationship with this land and  those who first farmed here.
